I am a self taught artist, born in 1979. I have been sculpting and painting since 1998. Most of my technique is learned through trial and error. Some themes I often explore are: contrast/duality, arcana/occultism, mythology, melancholia and the extremes of emotion. I aim to give these things new life and beauty as I see it. I try to depict sound, emotion and energy through detail, movement, texture and color. In this way they are made manifest/ "concrete."

My artwork is mostly figurative, but sometimes delves into abstraction. My sculptures usually juxtapose fragility against permanence. I sometimes combine painting and sculpting to create what I call "Mixed Media Sculptural Compositions." "Desolate Beauty" refers to the textures and figures that I create and the worlds of isolation which they inhabit.It also refers to the "empty" desert and quiet places of the Earth where I am completely at home. Through my art I strive for transmutation and perfection.
